Designed to Create a Working World Environment
We were appointed from project inception to completion to deliver this exciting, purpose built, vocational centre that will teach skills to children aged 14 to 19 and provide additional adult education opportunities.
The project was a unique partnership between Gloucestershire College, Cleeve, Chipping Campden and Tewkesbury Schools, paid for by the Learning and Skills Council. We worked closely with all of the stakeholders to ensure the brief and, ultimately, the finished building reflected their aims and aspirations for the facility.
The two-storey 3,200sqm building was deliberately located within an existing business park to enhance the real-world environment for students.
The new centre has extensive training facilities for students studying for diplomas in building trades, hairdressing and beauty, and catering. The project involved several environmental innovations including solar hot water heating for the hairdressing and beauty teaching facility, rainwater harvesting and an automatic ventilation system for the building trades and engineering training facility.
The project was successfully completed within the original programme, despite around £300,000 of additional works being incorporated!
